Leading the smart construction of the future.
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Sangji University started as the Department of Civil Engineering in 1992, then changed its name to the Department of Construction Systems Engineering, and then merged the Department of New Energy and Resource Engineering and the Department of Environmental Engineering in 2023 to become the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Civil and Environmental Engineering is a technical field for designing, constructing, and maintaining social infrastructure facilities necessary for human social activities. In addition to social infrastructure facilities such as bridges, dams, and roads that have traditionally been covered in the field of civil engineering, it is currently gradually expanding its scope to diverse and new convergence fields such as construction automation technology, new and renewable energy, and intelligent disaster prevention facilities through the combination of various IoT technologies.
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Sangji University aims to foster key talents in the 21st century construction and environmental field by providing education from the basics to practical work in the construction field and producing future-oriented engineers. We operate a systematic education program to foster experts who play a central role in the construction field, including planning, designing, constructing, supervising, and maintaining national infrastructure such as roads, railways, and smart cities. We also provide education that integrates construction IT and environmental energy knowledge to actively respond to global trends.
The most important part of human welfare is safety!
The Department of Fire Engineering trains firefighting experts to protect life and property from various disasters and fires, and studies the development of firefighting industry technology.
In general, firefighting engineering is a convergence of various disciplines such as architecture, machinery, electricity, and chemical engineering, and focuses on improving the quality of life by ensuring that human life is maintained safely.
Making every imaginary dream in the world a reality with technology
The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is a department that researches and teaches electrical and electronic engineering, which is at the center of modern technological civilization, and focuses on fostering creative and innovative engineers who will lead the future society. We foster talents who are well-equipped with basic theories in the fields of electricity and electronics, as well as system analysis, design, and development capabilities. Electrical and electronic engineering is an academic discipline that plays an essential role in various industrial fields such as mobile phones, home appliances, automobiles, aviation, and shipbuilding, and its importance is increasing day by day. In particular, as the impact of 4th industrial revolution technologies such as IoT, big data, and artificial intelligence on the economy and life increases, the social demand for electrical and electronic engineering majors is expected to continue to increase. Our department is keeping pace with these changes by providing education that combines cutting-edge technology and practical skills, and supporting students to grow into globally competitive talents.
Programming the world!
We provide education on the overall basic computer skills for computer hardware and software, and on researching and developing various IT-based application programs.
In particular, we provide education to cultivate software development methods and technologies, and based on this, we train specialized personnel necessary for the operation and management of various computer systems, including servers for companies, public institutions, and portal sites.
